We consider the square function associated with the Bochner-Riesz mean which is known as Stein's square function. The previously known range of sharp estimates is improved. Our result relies on vector valued extensions of the multilinear adjoint restriction estimate due to Bennett-Carbery-Tao and adaptation of the recent argument of Bourgain-Guth.
