In this talk I will emphasize both mathematical and optical issues associated with employing compressive mathematics in imaging. Examples will include adaptation, detection, video, and high-resolution microscopy. By highlighting such matters, the hope is to produce a more synergistic collaboration between mathematicians and
engineers.
