Abstract

Property \tau and hyperbolic 3-manifolds

This talk will focus on discussing topological consequences for hyperbolic 3-manifolds of expander families (resp. not being expander families) which arise from finite quotient groups of lattices in PSL(2,C). Much of this can be succinctly stated in terms of Property \tau, and topological consequences thereof.
