An Introduction to Free Probability - Part 1

In my first talk in this lecture series, I will first outline the basics of free probability, a noncommutative analogue of probability theory invented and developed by Voiculescu. In my second talk, I will discuss various applications of free probability to the structure of random matrices and operator algebras.
