Comparing trees, geometry and applications.

Several phylogenetic trees are often available
for comparison. For instance MtDNA and Y chromosomes
on the same individuals, or various other
genes can provide different trees.

These have to be compared within a tree space where
geodesic paths between trees inform us on the difference
in migration and marriage patterns, I will
outline some new mathematical tools and talk about some
small scale applications.
