My lab and others have obtained world-wide DNA polymorphism data for many genomic regions. These data are very
useful for estimating the base-line level and pattern of nucleotide diversity in human populations, for understanding
the mechanisms of maintenance of DNA polymorphism, and for studying the demographic history of humans. They are
also useful for addressing issues concerning the evolution of modern humans.
