In the first two lectures we will focus on mean-field models for pedestrian dynamics. We focus on fast-exit scenarios, in which a group of individuals wants to leave a domain as fast as possible. The microscopic dynamics are driven by the following assumptions - individuals want to leave as fast as possible, but avoid congested regions. We discuss the mathematical modeling, the respective mean field models and compare them to well known continuum models in the transportation literature.
Recitations: we discuss Python programs, which illustrate the dynamics of the models on the different levels
